Asher: I don't want one.

Asher: Because we'll have to get rid of Finn (our cat).
Harper (excited, with arm extended and finger pointed): A purple one!
Mom: Oh, well what if we can keep Finn?
Harper: A purple one!
Dad: Yeah, would you want one then?
Asher: No. It'll be too much work.
Harper: A purple one!
Mom: You think so?
Asher: Yes. We'd have to get rid of Finn, and it'd be too much work.
Harper: A purple one!

If I ever wonder if my kids listen to me, the answer is yes.

Bee in My Ear (January 09)
Asher: Mom, how did I get an ear infection?
Mom: I don't know, honey (at 5 a.m., it was toooo early to attempt an explanation).
Asher: I think a bee flew in my ear.
Hours later . . . Asher: Mom! My ear feels better. I think the bee flew out.

Asher: A pickle. (I don't know why this cracked me up but it did. Soon, Asher got the idea of the riddles and guessed one after another).

Harper: Ashies shoe on! (While in car, and Asher had his shoes off because they got wet from a puddle).
Mom in thought bubble: Holy cow, Harper! You put three words together! And are just a wee bit bossy!

Mom: Oh, yuck. The cat threw up.
